Business Card Lesson Plan
Question:
Does anyone have a business card lesson plan to use in either Word 97 or PageMaker 6.5 that you would be willing to share?  I have heard of people designing them in Access too. I haven't tried it, but would like to without buying different software.

Answer:
Here is a lesson plan where students will create a business card for each inventor.  This lesson plan was created by a team of middle school teachers in one of my workshops.
Actually, I have created business cards using ClarisWorks.  I just use the Stationery feature which has an option for labels.  Find the label size/type that corresponds with the business card size.  Students create logos, scan them, then reduce the image to fit on the card.

By the way, I also devised a weekly bathroom pass this way (I allowed one free emergency per day).  Each pass had 5 day-sections, I could just initial the space, add the time and away they went.  It took less time than writing a pass, but gave more accountability than a classroom hall pass.  As a motivator, 4 completely unused passes could be traded for a small pack of cookies or crackers.  Bathroom use was drastically curtailed!
