Question:
Does anyone have any recommendations
for audio conference
providers?
I recently ran a three location conference
call using the facilities of . All
the callers were in the UK. It
was easy to setup - but each UK caller
was hit with 37.5p/minute connection.
It made no difference if they
came in via OneTel or SuperLine -
37.5p/minute over 38 minutes - £14.25
each (£42.75). It seems pricey.
Anyone with a recommendation?
Answer:
If it's only 3-location, why not use
the charge-per-use version of BT's
3-way calling?
Alternatively you can get unlimited
use as part of a value plan.
We often have 3-way calls with other
users who have 0845 numbers (from
Solwise) - conference
calls between 3 callers spread throughout
the country costs us next to nothing.
Depends where you are conferencing.
If one of the parties has a PABX with
the facility enabled, you should be
able to do it by setting up a conference
direct from that switch. Total cost
is two calls out from the PABX. In
any event, the price of the call isn't
really a factor in the cost, you're
paying for the convenience. how much
would it have cost for all three parties
to have met up? And how long
would the meeting have taken? Audio
conferences tend to focus on the matter
in hand and keep the chit-chat to
a minimum. There are loads of suppliers
- watch out for hidden costs such
as "constantly on line"
where the bridging staff monitor the
call at a hefty price. provision
of tape recordings are another mark-up.
