Plans for Restaurants |
Question:
I would like to get help on this issue
from any professional:
1)How do i prepare business plan for
a successful restaurant?
2)what are the total costs that i
have to pay attention to?
Answer:
I'm a Chef, not a Business
Professional, but I do work for a
very well known restaurant family
here in New Orleans (The Brennans)
. From what I've learned from them,
It's a general rule that restaurants
don't start turning a profit (after
initial investment) for about seven
years (not talking fast food or chains
here). The reason most places fail
in the first few years (even with
good food & service) is that the
owner lacks financial backing sufficient
to "weather" the first few
years of losses. Be prepared to lose
money or merely break even for the
first few years. If you can maintain
good food and service and build a
customer base, eventually you may
start making money.
